Fill a big container halfway with rice. Remove any unwanted things from the rice by washing it.
Rinse the rice under cold running water, then repeat the process. Do it again until the water is clear. Put the rice, salt, margarine, and 1 cup of water into a medium-sized pot. Stir with a fork, cover, and bring to a boil over high heat.
Turn the heat all the way down, Cover the rice with a layer of foil paper, a half cup of water, and the lid of the saucepan. Let the rice steam for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, take the lid off the pot, peel back the foil, and give the rice a taste. If any grains are still firm, add a splash more water to the pot, then return the lid and steam the rice for another 10 minutes. To season the rice, sprinkle some salt over the entire dish.
The rice should be done after 10 minutes. Just before serving, fluff the rice with a fork.
