Ingredients

  • 1 cups White long grain rice
  • 1 tbsp margarine or butter
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Salt salt to taste

Instructions

  • Fill a big container halfway with rice. Remove any unwanted things from the rice by washing it.
  • Rinse the rice under cold running water, then repeat the process. Do it again until the water is clear. Put the rice, salt, margarine, and 1 cup of water into a medium-sized pot. Stir with a fork, cover, and bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Turn the heat all the way down, Cover the rice with a layer of foil paper, a half cup of water, and the lid of the saucepan. Let the rice steam for 20 minutes.
  • After 20 minutes, take the lid off the pot, peel back the foil, and give the rice a taste. If any grains are still firm, add a splash more water to the pot, then return the lid and steam the rice for another 10 minutes. To season the rice, sprinkle some salt over the entire dish.
  • The rice should be done after 10 minutes. Just before serving, fluff the rice with a fork.
